Thank you to the selection committee for choosing my application to receive one of the 2009 James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarships. I am truly appreciative and honoured to be presented with a $1,000 “Bootstrap” award. I gratefully accept this award, as it will offer tremendous financial assistance in my freshman year of university.
Thanks also to the Teamsters Local 362, Richard Eiche, (Secretary-Treasurer) and Jackie Brown (Administrator) for endorsing and forwarding my initial application for this scholarship.
I have been given an early acceptance into the Business program (Operations Management) at the University of Calgary (U of C). I have also been accepted at Mount Royal in the same degree program, although it is my second choice.
