JAMES R. HOFFA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to children and/or grandchildren of Teamster Members. The Fund was established as a non-profit organization to assist Teamster Member families with post secondary education costs. An Essay Contest has now been made a permanent component of the Fund. Winners will receive one of fifty $1,000 scholarships, with 10 awards distributed to each of the area regions. The Essay Contest is geared toward the student who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of labor principles and the impact of the labor movement in their life.
Local Union No. 362 is very proud of the number of Scholarships that have been awarded to children and grandchildren of Members in our own Local.

The Local Union is proud to announce our latest recipient for the 2010 - 2011 edition of the James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund:
Kristy Oatway - $1,000.00
Daughter of Marina Oatway, Member who works for Peace Wapti School Division in Spirit River, Alberta. Kristy plans to attend the University of Calgary this fall where she will study biological sciences. After completing her Bachelor of Science degree she hopes to gain admission to the University of Calgary or the Western College of Veterinary Medicine to become a mixed practice veterinarian.
