Brother Al Porter has been a Member of General Teamsters, Local Union No. 362 since 1977, and is a 2nd generation Teamster.  Al first joined the Local as an employee of Motorways working as a Part-time Dock Worker, as a City P & D Driver, then as a Line-haul Driver.

After leaving Motorways Al went to work on the dock for Midland Superior (Route Canada) from 1982 – 1986.  In 1988 Brother Porter furthered his career by hiring on as a Line-haul Driver and Owner-Operator with Canadian Freightways, and served the Membership as a Shop Steward from 1989 - 1993.

Al’s talents and dedication were recognized by the Local Union and he was hired on as a Business Agent in 1993, and further appointed as President for the Local, and Movie Director for Canada in January 2008. 

Al was born in 1961and has been married for 20 years to Debbie.  They have 2 grown children, both of whom are employed in the trades, as Union Members.
