Brother Norris was born in Cardiff, Wales and came to Canada in 1982 where he became a Teamster with Diversified Transportation in Fort McMurray. His dedication to the Union achieved him status as Shop Steward, a position he held for nine years. He was very involved in the community of Fort McMurray. As a volunteer he was on the Board of Directors of Victim Services Unit and volunteered at the Fort McMurray General Hospital. He is also very involved as a volunteer at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton. Brother Norris became a Business Agent in Fort McMurray in 1990 where he remained for four years. When the opportunity came in 1994, he was transferred to Edmonton. In 1998 Brother Norris was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Local 362 Health and Welfare Plan and Local 362 Pension Plan. His other accomplishments involving the Union include, Director of the General Teamsters, Local Union No. 362 Real Estate Corporation and Director of the Prairie Teamsters Administration Services. In 2004 he was appointed Vice-President of Local 362 and Office Manager of the Edmonton office. Among the companies that he represents are Inland Concrete, Lafarge Construction Materials, MTE Logistix, St. Albert Transit, Diversified Transportation Industrial, Waste Management, BFI, Peace Wapiti School Division No. 76, Hertz Equipment Rentals, Brinks, and G4S Cash Services. Keith is happily married to Elaine, has two grown children and three grandchildren. |
